How to fix connectivity error of Brother Printer to the wireless network?

Brother Printer usually works brilliantly assuring its customer’s with smooth experiences. But sometimes the customers’ may face some common issues like connectivity error to the wireless network.

Below provided are some of the solutions for different situation issues that occurs and are faced by the users. They are as follows:

• The error occurs when for the first time the Brother system is connected to the wireless network.

In Ad-hoc or Infrastructure mode the Brother system are connected to the wireless network. In Infrastructure mode the wireless devices communicates with one another through an access router or pointer. In Ad-hoc mode the wireless network doesn’t have any access to router or pointer and each of the wireless devices connects directly with one another.

Configuring Brother Printer for a wireless network is done either manually or automatic through Wi-Fi protected setup.

 For Automatic configuration of Brother Printer for Wi-Fi Protected setup-

To configure automatically for Wi-Fi Protected setup, keep certain things in mind that there should be full internet connection (LAN) as well as make sure that LAN is supporting Wi-fi protected setup (WPS) or AOSS. Confirm the access by following the instructions listed below-

• Keep the Brother Printer at a range of WPS or AOSS access pointer or router.
• Click on the Settings followed by All Settings, Network, WLAN and WPS or AOSS.
• On the popup message, if the message comes Switch Network interface to wireless? Then click on the option Yes, to proceed with the wireless setup wizard. And Click on the option No, to cancel it.
• When the display message shows Start WPS or AOSS on your wireless access pointer or router, then click on the option Ok. Then select the WPS or AOSS option on the wireless access pointer or router and press Ok.

The system will automatically detect the exact mode (WPS or AOSS) the wireless access pointer or router using and will try to connect to it.

• The LCD displays will show connected, if the wireless device is connected successfully. The Printer will print the system’s wireless status report- if the connection fails then check the error code on the printed report. Or else the wireless setup is connected.

Please note- Even if you have printed with USB connection, still you need to install the printer driver for network connection. Follow the steps for installing the Printer driver for network connection.

Steps for installing Printer Driver for network connection are as follows-

Step 1-Check that your PC is on and you’re logged into it through Administrator rights.

Close all the other programs, if running in the background.

Step 2-In Windows PC place the installation CD-ROM into CD-ROM drive.

• The installation screen will appear automatically on the screen. Choose the model and language, if asked.
• Click Install MFL-Pro Suite and select yes, to accept the license agreement.

Please note- If the user Account Control screen appears, then click yes or Allow.

• Follow the instructions to complete the setup.

For Manual configuration of Brother Printer for Wi-Fi Protected setup-

Check and record the wireless network settings of the WLAN access through pointer or router settings- Network Name and Network Key. Brother Machine supports the use of the first WEP KEY only.

Please note- If you’re using a router or pointer that is using more than one WEP KEY then Enter the KEY used for the first WEP KEY.

Steps for installing Printer Driver for network connection are as follows-

Step 1-You need to connect the AC power cord to Brother Printer and then connect it to an AC power outlet. Switch on Brother Printer.

Step 2-Now switch on your PC

Step 3- In Windows PC place the installation CD-ROM into CD-ROM drive.

• The installation display screen will appear automatically on the screen. If asked choose the model and the language, to proceed next.
• Click Install MFL-Pro Suite, when the CD-ROM main menu will appear.

Please note- If the user Account Control screen appears, then click yes or Allow.

• Select yes, when the License Agreement screen appears, to agree with the License Agreement.
• Choose Wireless Network Connection and select Next button.
• If the Firewall or Antivirus detected comes up on the screen then select Change the Firewall port settings to enable network connection and continue with the installation. And select on the option next.

The display screen will appear, you need to choose your Brother Printer. In case the display screen doesn’t appear then select Wireless Setup to configure the wireless settings.

Step 4-If you can found Brother Printer from the list then choose the resp. Printer from the list, then select Next.

Step 5-Follow the instructions to install the Printer Driver for Network Connection.
