Norton.com/setup Online Backup keeps the copies or backs up of your important files, photos, and other documents. With it, you can recover your important data when you accidentally lose your data from your device. Norton Online Backup has a storage limit that can be extended by purchasing the additional storage.
After the data loss or when you switch from one device to another, you may need to restore the files from Norton Online Backup. To make this happen, you need to follow a series of steps that have been provided in this article:
Steps to restore files
1. Visit Norton Online Backup website and hit the Sign In or Log in
a. To sign in, provide your registered email ID and password
b. Click Forget Password, if you have forgotten your account password (the option is available just below to the loginform as it is available at www.norton.com/setup)
c. You will be provided the ways to reset your password
d. Provide your registered email ID and then log in to that email
e. Find password reset email in your inbox
f. Open the email and follow the given instructions to set a new password for your Norton Online Backup account
2. In front of the backup set from which you want to get back or restore the photos or other files, hit File Actions
3. Now, hit Restore Files
4. Visit the Options section, click the drop-down menu and then choose the computer system or the device where you want to restore the files
a. If you don’t choose the device or any particular location for saving the restored files then it will be restored to the default folder on the desktop. And if you want these files to be restored to their original location, hit Show options and choose Restore Files to their original location on your computer
5. Now, do the following in the Restore Files tab
a. If you want all the files to be restored from the backup set, hit Restore All Files
b. Choose Select Files to Restore, if you want to restore only the specific files
6. Once done, click Restore Files
7. You can now access those files on your device
