How to recover the files with Norton Utility-UnErase?

Norton Utilities introduced with the UnErase features which have the powerful data-recovery capabilities, basic or simple operations that are automatically done.

Let’s get into detail about how the Norton nu16-UnErase works, you might have tried to throw away the file and emptied the trash then only the disk’s directory actually gets changed. The filename might not appear but the data from the erased files remain on the disk until and unless it gets space to get store the other files.

UnErase helps you by using other methods to locate the erased file’s data and recover the same when you accidentally delete the files or you couldn’t able to locate the files.  

Check out the steps below to recover the erased files by using the Norton nu 16-UnErase-

1.      Open the Norton Utilities main window to open the ‘UnErase’.

2.      ‘UnErase’ window opens up.

3.     Choose the disk that contains the erased files.

4.     Select the ‘Quick Search’ option.

Note- UnErase then looks for the erased files in the selected disk and show up the results, the file’s successful recovery in the ‘UnErase Search’ window.

5.      Select the ‘Name, size, modification or deletion date, or Recoverability column title’ to find out from the UnErase search window listing.

6.      To get more information about the erased files, you need to select the file and click on the option ‘Get info or View Contents’.

7.      Choose one or more files to recover and perform the actions as given-

§  Shift + arrow key from the keyboard to select the adjacent files. And press Command + arrow key to select the non-adjacent files.

§  Select the ‘Hide Unrecoverable’ files from the ‘Tools’ menu, to omit the unrecoverable files from the erased file list.

8.      Click on the option ‘Recover’.

The ‘Recovery Destination’ dialog box appears with the command placed for the selected files to get recovered or the disk.

9.      Choose the ‘disk’ to save the recovered files.

10.   Select the option ‘Recover’

UnErase recovers the files and displays the successful status of the message. And the ‘Recovery Files’ the recover files folder is made with the same name.
